THE TOURS
Kiwi Motorcycle Tours offers a completely customisable service. Basically we'll tell you what's available, you tell us what you want to do and we organise it for you. It's that easy.
We can organise your rental bikes, accomodation (you tell us what price range and we'll organise the best for you within that range), activities and route. While you're welcome to do any or all of your organising yourself, we don't charge anything extra to do it and our local knowledge and close ties with local tourism companies can often get you a cheaper deal, or a discount.
7 day sample tour
This sample tour itinerary was put together to suit a group that want to pack loads of adventure activities into their 7 day ride around the North Island. They want cheap accomodation, but a level above backpackers.
- Day one:
AM- Pick up from Auckland Airport or your hotel
Taken to Ardmore Motorcycle Rentals to get bikes and gear. (See table below for rental prices.)
Midday- Leave Auckland and travel round the coast to the world famous Coromandel Peninsula, one of the most famous coastal rides in New Zealand.
Then continue around the Coromandel Peninsula, with stop-overs in Thames and Coromandel, to Hahei beach.
- Day two: AM- Half-day sea kayaking tour to the world famous Cathedral Cove Beach with chances of encountering whales and dolphins. (Bad weather alternative: visit the famous Hot Water Beach where at low tide you can dig a hole in the sand and have it fill with geothermally heated hot salt water; a natural spa.)
Midday- Travel along beautiful winding coast roads through several coastal towns before traveling inland to Rotorua, a city located in an area of geothermal activity.
PM- Check out the Rotorua night-life.
- Day three:
AM- NZONE Skydives for tandem sky diving from 15 000 feet. (Bad weather alternative: Visit skyline skyrides for gondola rides and down hill luge racing.)
PM- Off road 4x4 driving (you drive) through some of New Zealand's famous native bush with "Off Road NZ".
- Day four:
AM-Travel to Huka Falls one of New Zealand's most beautiful waterfalls for some extreme jet boating and sight seeing with Huka Falls Jet.
PM- Go bungy jumping with "Taupo Bungy" then check out the Taupo night life.
- Day five:
AM- Half day bush quad adventure with Tongariro Quads.
PM- Travel through the central North Island past some of our most majestic mountains and through some of our beautiful native forest to Waitomo. (Famous for its limestone caves, underground rivers and glow worms.)
- Day six:
AM- Visit "Hagas Honking Holes"- absail down waterfalls into deep caves then traverse through subterranean landscapes on your way back to the surface.
PM- Visit "Black Water Rafting Company"- put on a wetsuit, grab an inflatable tube and jump into darkness. A subterranian adventure like no other.
- Day seven:
AM- Travel up the North Island through the rolling Waikato farmland to Hamilton city.
PM- Then on to Ardmore motorcycles to return your bikes and say goodbye.

THE BIKES

You are welcome to organise your own Motorcycle rental for our tours, there are a lot of companies in New Zealand that hire out motorcycles.
We are also very happy to organise the bikes for you. At Kiwi Motorcycle Tours we prefer to deal with Ardmore Motorcycle Rentals because of the standard of service they provide for a reasonable price and because of the high quality of their late model Ducati, Yamaha and Suzuki motorcycles.
We can make all the arangements for you prior to your arrival in New Zealand, so that on arrival you will be picked up from the airport and sorted out with
your bikes with minimal bother.
The bikes at Ardmore Motorcycle Rentals are in high demand and we recommend making your bookings with us at least three months in advance to insure the bikes you want are available. If the bikes you want are not available we will do all we can to help organise bikes for you through an alternative rental company.
Prerequisites:
Pillion pasengers require no licence but all riders must hold a full motorcycle licence with no restrictions in their home country. An under-age surcharge of 10% is charged for riders aged 21-24. Riders must hold a full motorcycle licence .
All hirers of Ducati or FJR1300 must be aged 27 years or older and must have held a full motorcycle licence for 3 years or more. Hirers must be able to provide a Visa or Mastercard for the security bond.
